We're celebrating the first day of September (Spring!) with our Annual General Meeting ...

So come and join us from 4-5pm at Lalor Library, Saturday September 1st 2018. We'll be electing the president, secretary and treasurer for 2019. If you want to nominate for one of these positions or find out more about what would be involved, please email linkscommunitygroup@gmail.com by 27th August. To stand for one of these positions, or to vote in the AGM, you'll need to be registered as a member, which involves filling in our membership form and paying the membership fee ($1.00). Email linkscommunitygroup@gmail.com for a membership form.

Our compost needs your banana skins

If you've got apple cores, pumpkin peel, celery ends, or banana skins, and no where to put them except the garbage bin, then bring them down to Links to chuck in one of our sturdy compost bins, or the compost bays we'll be building soon.

Art among the artichokes

Okay, so we haven't planted the artichokes yet, but the art is coming along anyway. We've got mosaics-in-progress, some great garden bed paintings, a beautiful upcycled packing-tape rainbow, and there are secret plans for a recycled materials scultpure (don't tell anyone). If you're an artist, a little bit crafty, or just interested, and you'd like to contribute to our space, let us know! We'd love to hear from you!

Our indigenous food garden

We had a great time last month, planting murnongs, bulbine lillies, running postman, nodding saltbush, native hop bush, and  heaps of other fantastic food and fibre plants that have been farmed in our region for hundreds and hundreds (and thousands) of years. You'll find them growing in the corrugated iron bed and the western/railway track border of the garden.
